Your friends here at Jungli are currently operating a ghost kitchen in the commissary space at the Crafted Kitchen in the Arts District, neighboring Downtown LA. The red brick face of the building hugs the sidewalk at 672 S Santa Fe Ave where we are fulfilling orders for pick-up and delivery through our very own Square storefront as well as DoorDash, Caviar, Postmates, and UberEats. Open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, we will have a regular weekly menu with which some new dishes will be introduced, and, of course, we would love your feedback on these dishes via email at email@example.com.
Jungli is a concept originally proposed through a succession of conversations between founder Rupal Patel and her cousin Abhi Patel through the Spring and Summer of 2020. Rupal has over a decade of experience working in agriculture, responsible supply chain management, and advocating for farm laborers in the food sector. Abhi Patel has spent 15 years as a restaurant professional, compiling a discernible perspective of the industry. The combination of both of their experiences compelled them to launch Jungli and introduce a modern South Asian dining experience to our beloved Angeleno community.
Shortly after, Rupal and Abhi met Chef Ali Khan Haji. As a native Angeleno, descendant of the South Asian diaspora, and son of African immigrants, Ali represents the rich culinary heritage of many traditions, with which he lets culminate a uniquely ‘Junglian’ approach to food. Do not let your eyes trick you, the flavors and aromatics are rooted in the South Asian experience, commanding robust and complex sensory responses.
Later this year, look forward to our concept becoming a fixture in the bustling realm of Downtown LA. The upcoming brick and mortar will allow us all to embark on the community driven experience Jungli will exemplify through our cultural contributions of flavor and hospitality. Our story treads on the uncommon, the eager, and the unknown, and we invite you to join us. Be Wild. Be Jungli.
